Malcolm's 4th Birthday Party

Today we hosted Malcolm's Backyard Birthday Party and I think it was a grand success.  We set up the pool, had enough squirt toys and sponges for all the kids to play with, and oh yes the water slide.

The weather was perfect, the food was simple and it filled my heart to watch the kids play and parents visit.  This was the first real birthday party Malcolm had, and as I don't do a lot of entertaining it took some energy to pull it all together, but I figure the more often I do it the easier it gets... right?   With two kids and no possible way to combine birthday parties I'll be doing this twice a year for the foreseeable future.  Ashley gave me a small panic attack after when he commented after, "how are we going to top this one next year?"

A very tired boy post party eating KD for dinner, because as I told Ashley I planned up to the party and had nothing planned for the rest of the day/weekend.
