Malcolm has been having a rough week, and his napping strike continues (has not napped at school in the past six days). He's been waking early and by the time dinner comes around he is a wreck. I think he may be fighting some sort of bug as he is sounding a little congested and coughing tonight, which may explain what is going on.
But that is not the point of this post. It reminded me of 'Save Me!'
A few months ago Malcolm came flying into our room in the middle of the night calling out "Save Me!" before crawling into bed. He had a bad dream about monsters trying to get in the back door and just wanted to be held, which we were more than happy to oblige. Since that night 'save me' has become our family code word for, I want to be held or snuggled. Not just when monster are trying to get in the back door. I ask Malcolm to 'save me' in attempts to get him to relax at bedtime, and he swings his little arm around me and holds me tight and that is probably one of the best feelings in the world.
