As in past years we headed to Dad and Cathy's home in Bromont for the festivities (not the place with squirrels as Clara would say). We arrived on Saturday morning, and had a quiet day with Dad, Cathy and Rachel who was just arriving home from camp. Sunday morning we went to Dad's church in Iron Hill for a singing celebration where Laurel, Marc, Clara and Leo caught up with us. We all went to the parish hall for a yummy packed lunch (thanks Rachel!) and very sugary cake. That afternoon we hit the fields for some strawberry picking to use on the delicious three sectioned birthday cake and pancakes the next morning. After filling our bellies on fajitas, cake, strawberries, and ice cream, birthday gifts were exchanged. I don't know who was more excited about Malcolm's first birthday gifts, Leo or Malcolm! A walk on the trail and a swim in the pool (mental note, when Malcolm cries a lot he pees) on Monday morning and then it was time to head for home.
Thank you Dad (Papa T) and Cathy for a great weekend!
