We are back in Ottawa after a very busy week in Nova Scotia:
Monday was spent doing yard work in Kentville. Everyone (Joan, Elaine, Ashley, Larry and I) pitched in pulling up dandelions, raking leaves, tilling the garden, planting flowers, herbs, and vegetables. Malcolm supervised.
Tuesday Ashley, Malcolm and I took a day trip into Halifax. We toured around the old haunts, took in all the changes, hit the Mic Mac Mall, and had dinner with John, Tracy, and Owen. Tuesday was also the day Malcolm's third tooth cut through (upper left of center).
Wednesday was spent back in Kentville getting more work done around the house, getting ready for the wedding and the 'pre-nup' dinner Larry and Elaine hosted for some friends (yummy seafood chowder).
Thursday was the big wedding day.
Friday was the day to unwind.
Ashley didn't stop moving the whole time we were away, running from one task to the next, making everyone else tired just watching him go. Malcolm put on quite the show; laughing and smiling all the way. Me, I got a break from the real world. Ashley got up with Malcolm most mornings so I got to sleep-in, I didn't cook or plan one meal (other than Malcolm's food), or wash one dish or unload the dishwasher. It was heaven.
We packed up and left Kentville early Saturday morning and decided to drive straight through to Ottawa getting in at 1:30am. Malcolm was a good passenger. Not quite as perfect as the ride to Nova Scotia, but there was no way to improve on that trip. Perhaps it was the fact that Malcolm had to share the backseat with the blueberry bush Grammy & Grampy sent back for him that gave him reason to whine for part of the trip. It was at a rest stop in New Brunswick that we noticed tooth number four had cut (top right of center). The long day driving was worth it for the ability to sleep in our own beds, and spending a lazy rainy Sunday at home.
