When Malcolm was born Dave, Shelly and Andrew (sorry Matthew, you were not born yet) gave him a gift which included a stuffed yellow duck. It was a soft, squishy happy little fellow.

At some time after Malcolm was a year old the duck became 'Duckie' and was part of the sleeping trifecta (blanket, Duckie, and sousie) and sleep would not occur unless Duckie was present and accounted for. We're not quite sure when it happened, but there was no going back.
Duckie had a lot of adventures with Malcolm; traveled, went on walks and bike rides, camped, went to the ski hill fell in the toilet, went through the wash, went to daycare, and was there when Malcolm became a big brother.

Duckie has been there through the good times and the bad. He has mopped up Malcolm's tears and shared in the glories. At a certain point in time Ashley and I realized that we would be in big trouble if Duckie got lost, or injured beyond repair, so we started looking for a future replacement duck but never had any luck.
This morning while Malcolm, Farley and I were in the toy store picking out a toy for Malcolm to buy with his birthday money, I saw the original duck. I could hardly believe it was the same toy. It looked so different. Malcolm's comment was along the lines of 'Why is Duckie so skinny?' I had to get it (especially since it was on sale). So that is the story of Two Ducks...

Now the story of the pig. Seeing that Malcolm has grown to love Duckie so much I asked Malcolm if he wanted to pick out a toy of the same series for Farley. So Pig came home too.
