We got Farley into see a pediatric opthamologist to take a look at his droopy eyelid. After two hours in the office (they tell everyone to expect the appointment to take that long) and dilating his pupils, the verdict was there is no problem with his eye or vision. We'll continue to "keep an eye on it" with a yearly check-up at the opthamologist (more two hour waits) but they won't do anything to surgically correct the eyelid until he is 7-8 years of age.
It is funny because I don't notice it in person much anymore, but when I look at pictures it is very prominent. So how much is it to do with the angle you look at him, me just being so used to it, or how sleepy/awake he is. Sometimes when I mention it to people they tell me they didn't notice. Other times I get strangers asking if he is blind or the kids in Malcolm's school asking everytime why his eye isn't opened all the way. When people see him sleeping and comment that he is 'perfect' I resist the urge to say, "well actually he isn't" and explain.
Recently I've started to adjust my perspective, and think that this slight skew makes him perfect. Part of who Farley is. I wonder when he does reach 7-8 years of age, and if it does not impact his vision will get it corrected?
