The first part of the drive, from Ottawa to Bromont was the hardest with tired and frustrated Malcolm, Patricia, and Ashley. Before we even left Ottawa Ashley was checking the prices for flights. But we made it to Bromont hours later than we anticipated and got to say a quick hello to Papa T and Cathy before heading to bed. Malcolm and I were up early to spend some more time with the Bromont crew and by 9:00 we were on the road again. Malcolm was a real trouper and we were able to make it to Fredericton NB to stay with Cathy & Eugene by early evening. Back on the road the next morning, stopping in Sackville NB for more visits with Ashley's Aunt, Uncle and Cousin and finally arriving in Kentville NS by the following afternoon.
We had a great visit. Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Brian finally got the chance to meet Malcolm in person and we got to see their home, Grandma had lots of snuggle time, Grampy learned the words to some new favorite kids songs, we had recess at Grampy's old school, went for a trip to the Osteopath, visited with Ashley's aunt Jane, and had dessert with Grandma and Grampy's friends. The biggest downfall was the fact that everyone (except Malcolm and I) came down with one of the worst strains of the flu I have ever seen. That meant we missed out on meeting up with even more friends and family and our departure was delayed by a day. Check out Malcolm in the crib his Daddy once slept in.

The drive home was even better than the drive out east. Malcolm slept from Kentville to just outside Fredericton, and we were able to make it just past Riviere-du-Loup before stopping for the night. We were back in Ottawa by late afternoon, happy to be home.

Oh yes, that is a beautiful crib. Even Clara got a chance to try it out when she was 1 years old! I'm glad Malcolm didn't catch whatever Boyd bug was going around.
